NSS Unit Information
An institution will be allotted NSS units according to the strength of students. The number of units will be allotted by the Programme Coordinator (Dr. Soni T L, CU) in consultation with NSS Regional Centre and State Liaison Officer considering the demands of the institution.

- The enrolment of NSS volunteers is done only for First Year students of each academic year and will be for a period of 2 years.
A student enrolled as an NSS volunteer will have to put in 120 hours for community work in a year for a period of 2 years. They are likely to participate in different programmes and projects under NSS.
There are regular NSS activities and special camping programmes:
- Regular NSS Activity: Students undertake various programmes in the adopted villages, college/school campuses, and urban slums during weekends or after college hours.
- Special Camping Programme: Camps of 10 days duration are organized in adopted villages or urban slums during vacations with specific projects involving local communities. 50% NSS volunteers are expected to participate in these camps.
